Environmental TV Shows Fall 2007
Environmental TV shows grow in content and quantity in fall lineup 2007
The green and sustainable business (and living) theme has hit the media airwaves. Several shows are launching and continuing their run. Here's a partial list...you will find others as regional media also exercise their voice. America's media is its continuing education of the populace -- let's make it green!
"e2 Energy" and "e2 Design"
These PBS documentaries are in their second year. I watched "e2 Energy" last night and found it interesting and informative. It focused on community wind energy in Minnesota and spoke to the possibilities of cooperatives of local farmers who can turn their windy hills into revenue to keep them in business and keep their energy dollars at home. Every dollar saved by local generation vs. shipping it out of the country gets recirculated 5 times in the local economy! That's recycling with a capital $. Info at e2-series.com
The e2 Design episode is narrated by Brad Pitt and looks at how Chicago is greening its city in a big way with architecture and environmentalism.
Life is Wild
A delightful family series set in today's international African rural community that mixes ecotourism with local farming, New Yorkers with Zulus and youth issues with family survival. It fast became one of my favorites as I watch a vet battle environmental impacts and Mom rehabs a resort into a green bed and breakfast. More info about Life is Wild on the CW www.cwtv.com
