Over the past few years New Economics for Women developed a La Posada holiday tradition. Each December they hosted a special program to kick-off the holiday season by celebrating motherhood, honoring selected mothers, and raising much needed funds for their La Posada apartments.

But this year they are shaking things up. NEW is shifting their annual La Posada event to May, closer to Mother’s Day.

Programs include: The NEWConnect Business Growth Center is designed to empower minority and women owned businesses in the Los Angeles Community. Through the facilitation of educational and technical resources we look to stimulate the economy by creating business expansion and job creation.

Office space is available in the NEWConnect Business Growth Center for Latino or woman owned businesses with annual revenues of no more than $25,000. Rent for a small furnished office with internet connection and parking is $350/$400 a month. Benefits include one-on-one business counseling and business improvement workshops. Call Circe Cox at (213) 483-2060 for more information.

The Arroyo Vista Family Health Center provides comprehensive healthcare services for children and adults. The bilingual doctors, nurses and staff are dedicated to caring for their patients and will provide service to all, regardless of ability to pay.

The Center for Economic Literacy program educates for Economic Literacy -- a fundamental and essential step to creating wealth for individuals and families. Many families have the same dreams: a secure and stable home, a better quality of life, and excellent education for their children.
