Find green business solutions
green chemistry Energy makes things go. And America is a nation on the move -- almost frenetically. But that needs to change -- and it can change only when we each understand our own habits and dependencies. Fuel and electricity have been subsidized by governments with taxpayer dollars and tax breaks to foster economic development, jobs and global power. But it's catching up with us with dirty air, polluted water, and climate change risks. It's tiem to take another look (or two!) at our addiction to mobility and power.

This documentary is one of several that take a serious look at our energy profile. Documentaries provide more than the 20 second photo ops of television and provide that human connection that print can't deliver. Documentary filmmakers are much like the investigative journalists of yesteryear that bring depth to news reporting.

The San Diego EcoCenter will be hosting a special showing on
Friday, May 9, 2008 at 7:00pm.

What are the causes that led from America turning from a leading exporter of oil to the world's largest importer? What are the economic and sociological forces that have contributed to that change and impede it's solution?

"GasHole" is a new documentary film about the history of Oil prices and the future of alternative fuels. Directed by Jeremy Wagener & Scott D. Roberts, the film takes a wide, yet detailed examination of our dependence on foreign supplies of Oil.

The film examines many different potential solutions to our oil dependence. Starting with claims of buried technology that dramatically improves gas mileage, to navigating bureaucratic governmental roadblocks, to evaluating different alternative fuels that are technologically available now, to questioning the American Consumer's reluctance to embrace alternatives.

The producers of "GasHole" have partnered with The Clean Cities Coalition and other non-profit organizations to raise money and raise awareness!

Each participating city will be holding a unique benefit event including a screening of the documentary "GasHole" followed by a reception with the filmmakers.
