How many friends can you handle? How many "friendlies" can you build relationships with?

My husband and I work a lot with business networking because of his service, >"SureToMeet.com". We've been noticing recently a lot of discussion of "friends" and the very different definitions of that term. There are "on-line friends", "real friends", "Friendster Friends", and then there are lead generation terms such as contacts, leads, prospects and customers. And valued customers. And advisors.
