Web 2.0

Web 2.0 is based on the "wisdom of crowds" through social software and social networks. A variety of Web applications fit into this generation of Internet programs and learning strategies, such as MySpace.com, LinkedIn.com, YouTube.com, and Twitter.com. User generated content is at the heart of these business and sharing strategies.

New search strategies go beyond Web 2.0. They help us run applications and store files that can be shared from any device. The goal is to help individuals and groups locate, filter, access, integrate and share information and knowledge. Technologies such as internet based phones, 3-D interfaces and holographic devices are in the making. These all create possibilities for how individuals and groups learn.

Learning 2.0

Learning 2.0 aggregates e-learning, rapid course development and just-in-case learning. Just-in-case learning differs from just-in-time learning. Learners need to access, or receive relevant pieces of training on a timely basis, as they need it. E-learning started with trainers using authoring tools to build e-learning programs that learners accessed individually. E-Learning progressed into social networks, discussion groups and learning content management servers for individual learning.

Learning 2.0 allows learning to become part of the work culture so that learners can share and improve information and knowledge the moment that it is needed.

Learning is becoming a more mobile medium. New devices and networks give us access to content anywhere, anytime. Devices include access to live or recorded video, phone service, and sharing platforms. Employees are encouraged to take responsibility for their own learning and development with these individually accessed resources.

Enterprise 2.0

Enterprise 2.0 enables companies and groups to be more agile, flexible, transparent, social and innovative. Lines between traditional departments are blurring and knowledge can be shared and improved in real time. Customers, partners, suppliers, outsourcers, distributors and resellers expand the boundaries of the enterprise to enhance partnering and collaboration, sharing and innovation.

Innovation is happening at a faster rate and knowledge must be available 24/7 to keep pace with busy schedules and fast change in technological and business environments.
