Water Management

Groundwater is the lifeline for many rural and agricultural regions and their associated cultures and populations around the globe. Issues related to groundwater use and agriculture will be the focus of a June 15-17, 2010 conference in San Francisco.

Sustainable Agriculture

"Toward Sustainable Groundwater in Agriculture: An International Conference Linking Science and Policy" is being organized by the Water Education Foundation and the University of California, Davis. The conference will be held at the Hyatt Regency at the San Francisco Airport in Burlingame, CA

Groundwater Management

Additional groundwater management workshops will be held June 14 and an agricultural water tour will be held June 18.

The June 15-17, 2010 conference will provide scientists, policymakers, agricultural and environmental stakeholders, local, state and federal governmental officials, and consultants with the latest scientific, management, legal and policy advances for sustainable agriculture, sustaining our groundwater resources in agricultural regions around the world.

Groundwater management topics to be addressed in plenary and technical sessions include:

  • Climate, Energy, and Agricultural Groundwater
  • Agricultural Groundwater Quality and Contamination
  • Conjunctive Use, Agricultural Water Use, and Groundwater Management, Policy, and Regulation

Registration for the June 2010 conference Toward Sustainable Groundwater in Agriculture: An International Conference Linking Science and Policy is $595. This fee includes morning and afternoon coffee breaks and lunch on June 15, 16 and 17, and a hosted reception on June 15.
