California is energy efficiency leader in green building initiatives.
San Francisco Tops Green Building Opportunity Index
The Green Building Opportunity Index, published by Cushman & Wakefield in collaboration with the Northwest Energy Efficiency Alliance's BetterBricks initiative, ranks the top 25 markets for high-performance, energy-efficient office buildings.
State energy initiatives examined the effectiveness of state energy policies as measured by the American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy. The top five CBDs were San Francisco; Oakland, Calif.; Los Angeles; Orange County, Calif; and San Diego.
EPA Ranks Cities With Most Energy-Efficient Buildings
The second annual ranking from the EPA names Los Angeles number one in largest number of Energy Star-labeled buildings for 2009.
