The LADWP Clean LA Solar Program is the first program of its kind in a major US city. LA’s CLEAN LA Solar Program began accepting applications for the first 10 MW on May 17 and will continue through June 29, 2012!.

Proponents such as the Los Angeles Business Council have been researching and advocating for over 3 years for such a solar program. Please visit LADWP’s website to view the application and learn how you can participate.

LABC is launching a Solar Team-Up! Lunch event June 1. Members of the LADWP FiT Team will be available to answer questions and there will be a special presentation of solar feed-in tariff application case studies so you can learn from best practices. This is a great opportunity for building owners to meet solar developers and installers and determine how to work together to make solar projects happen.

On April 17, 2012, the LADWP’s Board of Water and Power Commissioners approved a dynamic 10MW FiT Demonstration Program to encourage renewable energy development within the Los Angeles Basin and to help meet the 33% Renewable Portfolio Standard Mandate by 2020. The FiT Program will allow LADWP to partner with program participants to purchase, through a standard power purchase contract, electricity generated from a participants’ renewable energy plant. These plants will be located within the LADWP service territory and connected to the LADWP electrical distribution system.
